What is screen printing?

Screen printing is great for branding clothing, bags, sweatshirts, jackets, backpacks and other textiles. In this method, the ink is applied to the fabric using a special mesh matrix. With a squeegee, the ink is spread over the entire surface in order to precisely reproduce the pattern placed on the mould. Each screen is a kind of canvas or mask through which the ink passes and forms the expected pattern on the fabric.

Using the printing screen, the ink is applied to the surface with extreme accuracy, making it possible to achieve expressive shapes and shadows. Plastisol inks have excellent covering properties, allowing intense colours to be achieved on both dark and light substrates. These inks do not crumble and remain durable even with frequent washing. Furthermore, screen printing makes it possible to achieve a wide range of colours, including Pantone shades, which is crucial when creating a consistent visual identity for a brand.

Important! With screen printing, one matrix allows one colour to be applied. For more colours, you will need to prepare further matrices separately. But rest assured, with us, you can bring even the most colourful ideas to life – we screen print using as many as 10 colours.

6 What are the 6 biggest advantages of screen printing?

  1. Reproduction of details. Screen printing is distinguished by excellent reproduction of details. The ability to create very fine patterns, shadows and subtle gradients makes screen printing indispensable when printing more complex graphics, patterns or logos.
  2. Colour depth and intensity. The ability to create multiple layers of colour makes it possible to achieve an exceptional depth and intensity, unattainable with other methods.
  3. Durability. One of the most important advantages of screen printing is its durability. The ink applied to the material through the screen achieves exceptional adhesion, which guarantees that the print will be resistant to mechanical damage, fading and the effects of atmospheric conditions. This is extremely important for promotional products that must retain their appearance for a long time.
  4. Special inks and techniques. Screen printing with special inks allows impressive effects and textures to be achieved. Metallic, fluorescent, 3D, glitter, plastisol, high destiny, sugar and crystalline inks are just some of the possibilities that screen printing offers. They allow us to create embossed, multicoloured patterns or logos. With sugar or crystalline inks, we can create a light, crystalline coating, producing a three-dimensional pattern that can be felt under the fingers.
  5. Versatility. Screen printing is great for printing on fabric, plastic, metal, wood and many other surfaces. This makes screen printing useful in the production of clothing, advertising gadgets, packaging, flags and banners.
  6. Small and large format. Screen printing is suitable for both small and large-format printing. It allows you to apply a large image on bags, sweatshirts, but also on flags and advertising banners. It’s all yours.

What materials can we screen print on?

Screen printing achieves impressive and durable prints on both natural and synthetic fabrics. With this technology, you will create impressive prints on e.g.:

  • Cotton T-shirts, jumpers, shirts and polo shirts.
  • Screen printing is great for decorating jackets, sweatshirts and promotional coats.
  • What do you think about personalised bags and backpacks with 3D print?
  • Do you want to create a unique sportswear collection? With screen printing, you will brand T-shirts, shorts and sports jackets
  • Thanks to the possibility of using reflective inks, you will create impressive sets of workwear or sportswear for cyclists or runners. Reflective prints are durable and resistant to fading and mechanical damage, so your branding will last for many seasons.
  • Screen printing also allows you to create a striking print on banners, nets and promotional armbands.

When is screen printing most cost-effective?

As each project requires the preparation of unique matrices, screen printing is most cost-effective for larger runs. Once prepared, the matrix can be used repeatedly. For large orders, the cost of preparing the matrices is almost unnoticeable.
